CCA Programmes for Schools
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our CCA programmes bring experiential learning into the school week through structured, progressive outdoor experiences.
We work with schools to deliver programmes that engage students through adventure, practical skills and meaningful challenges, while developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and independence.
From weekly outdoor skills and survival programmes to technical pathways in kayaking, climbing and water safety, our CCA programmes are designed to grow with your students.
More Than An After School Activity
A Progressive Learning Journey
Our CCA programmes are designed as structured learning journeys—not a collection of activities. Students build skills progressively, revisit what they have learned and take on new challenges as their confidence and ability develop.
Learn
Students are introduced to practical outdoor skills, knowledge and techniques through hands-on learning.
Practise
Skills are reinforced through repetition, games, scenarios and increasingly challenging activities.
Apply
Students use what they have learned in real-world situations where they need to communicate, solve problems and make decisions.
Lead
As students progress, they are given greater responsibility and opportunities to support their peers, take initiative and lead activities.
Evolve
Over time, students develop greater confidence, independence, resilience and ownership of their learning.
Explore → Endure → Evolve
This progression sits at the heart of every Morph Outdoors CCA programme.
Our CCA Programmes
Skills That Grow With Your Students
We offer a range of outdoor and experiential learning pathways that can be delivered as standalone CCAs or combined into a broader programme. Our programme’s minimum year group begins from year 4 and onwards.
PATHFINDER SURVIVAL CLUB
A progressive outdoor skills programme introducing students to survival, navigation, campcraft, environmental awareness, teamwork and practical problem-solving.
PERFORMANCE ROCK CLIMBING
Develop physical confidence, movement skills, focus and problem-solving through structured climbing sessions that progress from foundational techniques to more advanced skills.
SURVIVAL SWIMMING
Build water confidence and essential survival skills through progressive training in sheltered and moving-water environments.
OUTDOOR EXPLORATION
Take learning beyond the school grounds through hiking, navigation, environmental exploration, field skills and outdoor challenges.
LEADERSHIP & EXPEDITION SKILLS (DUKE OF EDINBURGH CCA SESSIONS)
Give students opportunities to develop communication, decision-making, teamwork and leadership through increasingly complex outdoor scenarios.
Built Around Your School
Our CCA programmes can be adapted to suit your year groups, school calendar, facilities, learning objectives and student experience levels. We work with schools to determine the right programme structure and progression.
Designed to Progress!
From First Steps to Greater Independence
A good CCA should evolve with the student. Our programmes are structured to introduce skills at an appropriate level, reinforce learning through practice and gradually increase the level of challenge.
INTRODUCE
Students discover new activities, build confidence and develop foundational skills in a supportive environment.
DEVELOP
Students strengthen their technical abilities, learn to manage challenges and begin applying their skills more independently.
CHALLENGE
Students encounter more complex scenarios that require greater teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making and resilience.
LEAD
More experienced students take on greater responsibility, support their peers and develop leadership skills.
A Long-Term Pathway
Students can remain within the same programme pathway for multiple years, with the content, challenges and responsibilities evolving alongside their development.
This allows schools to build a consistent outdoor learning pathway rather than treating each academic year as a standalone activity.
What Students Develop?
Skills That Go Beyond the Activity
Outdoor learning creates opportunities for students to develop skills that are difficult to replicate in a traditional classroom environment.
CONFIDENCE
Build confidence by learning new skills, overcoming challenges and stepping outside familiar environments.
RESILIENCE
Learn to manage setbacks, adapt to changing situations and keep working towards a solution.
TEAMWORK
Develop communication, cooperation and trust through shared challenges and group activities.
PROBLEM-SOLVING
Apply knowledge in practical situations where students need to assess information, make decisions and find solutions.
LEADERSHIP
Take responsibility, support peers and gradually develop the confidence to lead.
INDEPENDENCE
Learn to take ownership of equipment, decisions, preparation and personal responsibilities.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS
Develop a greater understanding of natural environments and how to explore them responsibly.
Learning Through Experience
Rather than simply being told what to do, students are given opportunities to experience, practise, make decisions, reflect and improve.
Safety & Safeguarding
Creating an Environment Where Students Can Learn Safely
Outdoor activities naturally involve challenge and managed risk. Our responsibility is to ensure that those risks are understood, assessed and appropriately managed so students can focus on learning and development.
Risk Management
Each programme and activity is planned with appropriate risk assessments, control measures and emergency procedures.
Qualified Instructors
Sessions are delivered by trained and appropriately qualified instructors with relevant technical, first aid and rescue competencies.
Safeguarding
Student welfare is central to our programmes. Our instructors are expected to maintain professional boundaries, appropriate conduct and safeguarding standards throughout every session.
Progressive Challenge
Activities are matched to the age, experience and ability of students, with challenge increased progressively as they develop.
Equipment & Procedures
Technical equipment is selected, inspected and maintained appropriately, with instructors following established operating procedures for each activity.
Emergency Preparedness
Our programme planning considers communication, medical needs, emergency response, evacuation and access to appropriate support.
Safety Is Part of the Programme
We don’t see safety as something separate from learning. Good risk management allows students to experience meaningful challenge within an appropriately controlled environment.
